Teacher in LALA Land

I recently moved back to the Los Angeles, California area to start my teaching career and to be back in the land of sunshine, smog, and - most importantly, art. I have been teaching at both the high school and college level since Summer 2007.

Schools at which I teach include:

Otis College of Art & Design (starting Fall 2008)
Irvine Valley College
Brentwood Art Center
ANDLAB / ARTLAB
Mahanaim Art

Please see my website for my updated teaching schedule - or feel free to contact me:

Examples of my own and my students' work may be seen on my Teaching Blog:

I am a traditional artist / illustrator who has transitioned to become a digital artist over the past several years. I have a particular interest in Artistic Anatomy, and received my B.F.A. in Illustration from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, and my M.F.A. (Digital Art and Animation) from George Mason University in Virginia in May 2007.

I became a moderator for CGTalk in July of 2005. I was allowed to create and moderate the sub-forum Artistic Anatomy and Figurative Art thanks to the kind support of the folks at Ballistic. The forum has done fantastically, and I am privileged to interact on a daily basis with talented artists from all over the world.

I instructed my first CGWorkshop titled Drawing On The Past with Ballistic in late 2005. It was a blast, and a lot of great work was produced by its participants ~ I learned a lot about teaching in the process, and began teaching my second CGWorkshop, Figuratively Speaking, in February of 2006.

Past CGWorkshops I've instructed:

Figuratively Speaking: Analyzing the Human Form

Drawing on the Past: Figurative and Anatomical Art

I am always interested in new teaching opportunities and in freelance work. Feel free to contact me with any inquiries at rebeccak4@gmail.com
